Service Description

Gua-sha massage is a tension-busting therapy that uses a jade massage tool to relax the muscles and increase local blood flow. Herb-infused oil or cream is first applied to the area to be treated, and then the gua-sha is run along the muscles and energetic channels in the area, dissolving knots and blockages and allowing Qi, or life force energy to flow freely again. In addition to releasing muscle tension, gua-sha massage improves circulation and lymphatic drainage, and also reduces the appearance of cellulite, scar tissue and wrinkles, depending on where the massage is performed. This service can be added on to any other treatment (cupping, acupuncture/acupressure, auricular therapy) or used as a mini, stand-alone treatment for melting tension in the neck, shoulders and back. Be sure to drink plenty of water after this treatment to help flush toxins from the body and re-establish proper lymphatic drainage.
